ROCKLIN CITY HALL

Rocklin City Hall is located at 3970 Rocklin Road and is home to several key offices and departments, including elected and non-elected positions:

The Department of Code Compliance is housed in historic City Hall.

In 1912, Adolf Pernu, owner of Rocklin's early 20th century California Granite Company, built the City Hall as a company store for his employees. Inscribed on a granite frontispiece over the entrance is the year 1912.

In 1931, Pernu died in a quarry accident in Sequoia National Park, and his creditors took possession of the building when the quarry businesses in Rocklin faltered due to the Great Depression.

Rocklin bought the building from a successor owner in 1941, and it now houses the Rocklin City Hall. In the early 1940s, the first floor of Rocklins library was occupied by City Council meetings and the second floor by the library.

During the 1930s, Chung Moon, a Hawaiian businessman, operated a market in the building. As a result, his family occupied the second floor until they bought the house of Dr. Henry Fletcher across the street. In today's Rocklin, the Fletcher home houses the Rocklin History Museum.
